How It Works

The test starts the moment you click the target button for the first time. A countdown timer ticks down in real time. Every subsequent click on the target increments the click counter. When the timer reaches zero, clicking is disabled and results are calculated.

CPS = total clicks ÷ test duration in seconds

The rating thresholds are based on typical competitive gaming benchmarks: Slow (<3 CPS), Average (4–6 CPS), Fast (7–9 CPS), Exceptional (≥10 CPS). Competitive gamers aiming for PvP combat in games like Minecraft often target 8–12 CPS.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a good CPS?

The average person clicks 4–6 times per second. Casual gamers typically reach 6–8 CPS. Dedicated players practising click techniques such as butterfly clicking or jitter clicking can exceed 10–14 CPS, though these techniques can cause repetitive strain injury if overused.

Does a high CPS give a gaming advantage?

In some games (notably Minecraft PvP on older versions) a higher CPS can increase hit rate. Most modern games use cooldown mechanics that cap effective attack speed, making CPS above a certain threshold irrelevant. For most games, accuracy and timing matter more than raw speed.

Is phone tapping faster than mouse clicking?

Touchscreen tapping can be faster than mouse clicking because multiple fingers can tap the same area in alternation (similar to butterfly clicking). However, phone screen response latency varies, so scores may differ between devices.
